# Short URL

{% embed url="<https://youtu.be/OX3CpToxmcs?t=44>" %}

The "Short URL" option allows you to create a customize link for your biolink landing page. It looks as follows:

![Short URL](/files/-M6lJ2tokAR6jVU_U2gp)

If you left the short URL empty, what comes after "<https://ezbiolink.com/>" will be randomly generated.

However, you are more than welcome to choose and type what comes after. If cold be your user name, the name of your business etc.

{% hint style="info" %}
Remember: If you change your "'custom alias" all of your previous links will become invalid.
{% endhint %}

Should you decide to change your page URL, you could simple change "your custom alias" box. We do not recommend changing this if you have shared your landing page on the internet. Remember that clicks to your previously shared link will not reach their destination.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.ezbiolink.com/settings/short-url.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
